You’ve just filled out your application for a Taglit Birthright Israel trip. The next step is to pay a fully refundable $360 deposit to reserve your spot. You might be wondering about the purpose of this deposit if the trip is free. Here’s what you need to know.

What is the purpose of the deposit?

Due to the limited number of spots on each trip, we need to ensure that all chosen participants will show up. When an applicant pays the $3600 deposit, this lets us know that you’re serious about traveling with Birthright Israel and covers any types of fees that we might incur in the event of a late cancellation.

How do I pay the deposit?

At the end of your application, you will have the opportunity to make your deposit through PayPal, which accepts Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal accounts.

When can I get my deposit back?

Upon returning home, you can either claim or donate your refundable $350 deposit. Many participants choose to donate their deposit to help others experience this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. If you do choose to donate, we have an anonymous donor that will match every trip deposit donation dollar for dollar. This covers two full days of the trip for a new participant!

If you’ve already filled out your application, make your deposit today. Once the application and deposit are received, a trip organizer will reach out to you within a few weeks to review your details and match you with the perfect trip. We can’t wait to see you there!
